The city got crowded
Deadlock did not gently improve in October, it kicked the door in. City Never Sleeps kept feeding the game fresh faces through the month, while balance work and the Halloween shake-up gave regulars something new to argue about between missed parries. The result was a leap from #47 to #15 among games on Twitch, with 4M hours watched.
The surge had legs, not just one flashy evening. Streaming time rose 763%, viewership rose 482%, and the channel count climbed from 12 to 50. That is what happens when a new meta arrives and every lobby suddenly contains somebody who is definitely testing a build, not feeding.
The grinders became the event
supertf supplied the daily thunder, turning absurdly heroic stream setups into a running month-long bit. He hit an 11K personal Deadlock peak while logging 100 hours, proving that positive vibes can apparently be powered by pure upper-body narration.
Recrent was the volume engine, spending 153 hours in the game and leading the watch-time table. His broadcasts often wandered through whatever else was happening in gaming, but Deadlock kept catching the crowd on the return trip.
Then JLTomy supplied the single-stream knockout punch with a 19K peak. That wave helped push the game to a combined 26K peak in its best hour, a reminder that Deadlock's new content had become appointment viewing, not merely background queueing.
A properly international pile-on
The month had multiple accents and one shared condition: everyone had a new hero to blame. Russian-language viewing was powered by Recrent's marathon presence, English streams brought the deepest bench, and alanzoka turned a handful of appearances into the strongest average audience among the leaders.
Gotaga made his grind feel like an event, while sneakylol treated the game like a full-time occupation. Deadlock's appeal in October was not a single superstar carrying the category, it was a whole lobby refusing to log off.

The late-night incident report
- Recrent put his entire bankroll on a 1-12 casino-style bet and lost it all. The house always wins, especially when chat has already sensed blood.
- Recrent also spent a tournament stream launching the same gag into orbit, until a Space Detonate bug finally exploded on the fourth attempt. Software remains undefeated.
- supertf ended one supposedly dominant day by losing five straight runs. The title promised a force of nature, the queue delivered weather damage.
- Supertf explained that saying he was going to eat at 4am really meant the stream was over, then reported four beefy 5-layer burritos. A retirement speech for the ages.
- sinatraa reached Platinum during a ranked session. The next rank was visible, which is the most dangerous possible thing to show a competitive streamer.
Now comes the hard part
October's jump looks like the natural collision of City Never Sleeps, constant hero arrivals, and creators willing to make Deadlock their nightly workplace. The late-month gameplay changes gave that crowd another reason to immediately reopen the client.
The question for next month is whether the hero parade becomes a lasting routine. With this many grinders already entrenched, Deadlock has a much better chance than most games of turning patch curiosity into a permanent, noisy neighborhood.
