Apex Legends: October's Big Bang

A CR Cup thunderclap gave Apex Legends its loudest hour, then scrims and Las Vegas watch parties carried October to the finish.

CR Cup pulls the pin

Apex Legends spent October behaving like a quiet room with one extremely large confetti cannon hidden under the chair. Sunday, October 4 delivered a combined 234K-viewer peak, up 196% from September, as the CR Cup finale turned practice-week nerves into appointment viewing.

加藤純一うん〇ちゃん supplied the month’s biggest individual stream at 77K viewers, while fps_shaka, stylishnoob4 and たいじ_たいちゃんねる made the same weekend feel like one giant group call with increasingly expensive consequences. The final-circle crash clip was the appropriate souvenir: Apex giveth, Apex disconnecteth.

The grind never left

Away from that opening detonation, the month ran on competitive discipline. Watchers fell 9% to 7.9 million hours and average viewership slipped 12%, but live time dropped an even sharper 18%. Fewer hours, fewer channels, and still #10 among games on Twitch: that is less a disappearance than a crowd refusing to leave the arena after the lights dim.

ImperialHal__ was the workhorse, filling 172 hours with international scrims, ranked sessions and tournament preparation. NiceWigg kept the broadcast desk warm through 152 hours, while the GameSir finals gave the middle of the month a useful reminder that Apex players consider “one more game” a binding legal contract.

Vegas gets the last word

The month’s final stretch belonged to the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs in Las Vegas. NiceWigg surged to 21K viewers on the opening tournament weekend, while 加藤純一うん〇ちゃん returned for a 27K-viewer support mission on Halloween. The international LAN gave the month a second pulse, smaller than CR Cup’s opening blast but much more durable.

That split personality explains October neatly. Japanese streams generated the big community-event fireworks, English streams supplied the relentless scrim and watch-party engine, and the result was a month with a spectacular peak despite softer totals almost everywhere else.

Next drop

Apex exits October with a clean handoff: Las Vegas competition still has the spotlight, while the incoming Cipher season gives ranked regulars a fresh reason to queue. The next month has room for both spectacle and the ordinary, glorious misery of solo queue.

If October proved anything, it is that Apex does not need a steady drumbeat to make noise. Give the scene a big community cup, a packed LAN weekend and a few streamers willing to stay live forever, and the lobby fills itself.
