Beahm introduced the Dr Disrespect character through YouTube videos in 2010. He subsequently worked at Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games, including on Modern Warfare 3 and Advanced Warfare, before leaving in September 2015 to focus on livestreaming as Dr Disrespect.^[2]

His broadcasts became associated with elaborate production, an in-character persona, and battle royale and shooter games, including H1Z1, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Call of Duty. He won Streamer of the Year at the 2017 Esports Awards.^[3][7]

Twitch permanently banned the channel in June 2020. Beahm and Twitch settled their legal dispute in March 2022 without either side admitting wrongdoing, and both stated that he would not return to Twitch.^[4]

In June 2024, Beahm said that his 2020 ban related to 2017 Twitch messages with a minor that had sometimes become inappropriate; he denied criminal conduct and stepped down from Midnight Society. YouTube later restored his channel’s monetization in January 2025, and Rumble announced in November 2024 that he would stream there and advise its Rumble Gaming division.^[5][6][7]
